Lydia Monnington, President
Lydia is a second year undergraduate studying maths at Keble. Lydia first became involved in OxWip because of the free chocolate but now believes strongly that it is important for women to be encouraged to aim high and that OxWip encourages this through its events.
Lydia is involved in the Women in Science conference which is jointly organised by OxWip and FEST. Lydia is on the committee for the Oxford University Investment and Finance Society. Lydia is also Relationship Manger for the new Oxford Careers magazine "The Gateway".
Lydia has spent time with Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley. Lydia has public sector exposure from working with the City of London Corporation and Greater London Enterprise.

Timea Bagossy, Vice President (Programmes)
Timea studies Jurisprudence at Exeter College and is currently a 2nd year undergraduate. Before becoming VP, Timea was on the general committee of OXWIP, organising various events for the society.
In her free time, she enjoys public speaking, dancing, ice-skating and organising large-scale events like balls or careers presentations/fairs.
Timea speaks four languages fluently and is enthusiastic about getting to know foreign cultures.

Melanie Edwards, Treasurer

Melanie is a second year student studying Economics and Management at Hertford College. She has a passion for business and banking, and has spent time with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. Her other interests include travel, property design, and yoga.
Melanie joined OxWip in 2007 as she believes it is of great importance to encourage women to aim high and achieve their potential.

A current second year studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Queens. When not typing minutes for OxWip meetings and sending emails, I'm busy with my position as Vice President of Queens, playing college sport and attempting to master my degree!

Melissa Skorka, Event Coordinator
Melissa is a Rotary Scholar studying for a Masters of Science in African Studies at Pembroke College. While earning her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Davis, Melissa employed her business skills as a financial advisor associate, working with the stockbrokers at Merrill Lynch in New York and Sacramento. During her academic career, she has interned for Senator Clinton and Speaker Dennis Hastert in Washington, DC. Melissa is a member of the Oxford Salsa Team, a TurboKickboxing instructor and the founder of the Oxford Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar Team (RIAST), which promotes Rotary scholarship in low-income nations. Melissa enjoys traveling internationally and spending time with family and friends in California.
Emily Carter, PR Co-ordinator
Emily is a second year Economics and Management student at Wadham. Her interests include fashion, film, current affairs and athletics. She has represented Oxford University for middle-distance running, produced a number of student theatre shows, had involvement with PwC and Deutsche Bank, and is currently PR manager for the student-produced careers publication 'The Gateway'.
Isla Kennedy, Editor of Tone
Isla is a second year at Christ Church, studying PPE. She was previously an Events Co-ordinator for OxWip and has now taken on the role of Editor of the termly jounral, Tone, commissioning and editing articles on women's issues.
She has a wide range of interests including rowing, hiking, rock climbing and skiing. Isla is a member of the Officer Training Corps at university, as well as a cadet instructor at home, and hopes to join the Army after her degree. She has a keen interest in women's issues and advancing equality in all aspects of life. Isla also enjoys travelling, having spent 5 months in India during her gap year, and visiting many other countries around the world. She is a lively, enthusiastic, proactive woman with a positive attitude to life.
Emma Reynolds, General Committee
Emma studies English at Merton and is in her first year. She is a member of the university kickboxing society and participates in Merton's art soc evenings with enthusiasm but little talent. She is looking forward to being involved with such a dynamic and positive organisation.
Katy Theobald, General Committee

Katy, a first year Experimental Psychologist at Balliol College, joined OxWip as a general committee member in Hilary term 2008. Katy was attracted to OxWip as a modern society looking at women’s issues today with a proactive and inclusive perspective. She holds an avid interest in current affairs and politics as well as being involved in a broader range of activities including dancing – ballet, modern, Latin and ballroom – painting, fashion illustration and dress design.

Lauren Murrell, Events Co-ordinator

Lauren is a second year undergraduate Geographer at Hertford College. First as part of the general committee, she became aware of the breadth of opportunities that OxWip has on offer; sharing ideas, meeting new people and contributing to a broad range of termly events. Now as the Events Co-ordinator she is eager to ensure that the mix of social and academic events continue to be successful and even more exciting: Politics, Punting & Pimms is one such event that ticks these boxes.
Her geographical interests have led her to undertake volunteering work at the Royal Geographical Society as well as encouraging her to actively embrace travel: Kenya and Japan being her two most recent travel adventures. A legal lens focuses her career ambitions which have been shaped by work experience with Clifford Chance and Freshfields.
Dr Elizabeth Frazer MA, DPhil, Faculty Advisor
Fellow, Tutor and Lecturer in Politics Elizabeth Frazer is the author of books and articles on political theory and political education, including The Problems of Communitarian Politics: unity and conflict OUP 1999. She is currently working on a number of academic projects on the broad theme of ‘what politics ought to be’ and her interest in this topic involves her in a number of projects in governmental and non-governmental organisations in the UK and continental Europe. She has been Dean of the College, Chair of the sub-faculty of Politics, and is currently Director of Research Training in the Department of Politics. She teaches political theory, political sociology and philosophy of the social sciences to undergraduates and graduates, and (to graduates) a range of social science research methods.
